flowers, snow and a train show

Jan. 18 is the date of me and Jared's 1st date - 13 years ago!
these are the flowers he bought me

taken the day after
they were kind of droopy by then

next to the flowers is a note I framed that Jared wrote me last year
it says, "A couple tulips to get your spring along its way"

-portraits of some sick kids-

Oscar and his chappy lip

his upper lip always gets chappy from his binky when he's sick
so, with this wave of germs we got rid of his binky
and it actually hasn't been that bad

it was time!

Roz is actually feeling quite a bit better
I told her to look sick
she doesn't look so bad

the red, chappy, boogery nose
a tell-tale sign of a sick kid!

the most beautiful snow storm!
the snow flakes were GINORMOUS!

rockin out on sister's guitar

Oscar is our little copy-cat echo

-the train show @ Thanksgiving Point-
which actually wasn't that awesome

but, it was $5 each for Jared and me
and the kids were free
so...

the lego one was my favorite
this is a shot of the tunnel through skull mtn.

the monorail

the tiniest one

and that's what we've been up to lately

just waitin around till spring!

OH HAPPY DAY!!!!!

Moses is officially POTTY-TRAINED!
Poop and all!
He did great on our Vegas trip and now he's keepin up the good work @ home.

After starting Roz too early I waited with Moses.
Till he was 3 actually.
Which is kind of late, but it only took him 3 months.
Vs. the almost 2 years with Roz!

I absolutely hate potty-training.
It is the parental duty I look forward to least!

(this was taken @ the grocery store. he had to wear his sister's shoes cause they make a "tap-tap" sound when you walk)

Oscar's birthday

Since Oscar's birthday is so close to Christmas (and my kids were extremely spoiled this year), we decided to get him something practical. So he got a bed set.

-the party-

Kathleen made another amazing cake. Its the house from the movie "Up". It kind of fell over in transport. But, thats how the house looks in the movie anyway.

blowing out the "2" candle

and it was delicious!

Oscar loved it!

Do your kids have birthday meltdowns?
Mine do.
Its just not a birthday without one.

Look @ that scowl!

And finally, opening presents!
Thanks, everyone, for all the rad stuff.

Oscar had a great day.
And I'm glad the holidays and birthdays are over for awhile.
(SIGH!)

My Baby is 2!

I can't believe Oscar is 2!
In some ways he still seems like our little baby.
But, over the last few weeks I've been noticing just how much of a big boy he is.

He's talking tons!
Like Roz did when she was little.

He weighs 27 lbs.!

He's not sleeping in a crib anymore (mostly he likes to snuggle in our bed).

He's VERY interested in the potty!
(good and bad)

But ...
he's still pretty attached to his binky and his blanky!

4 months old - Mother's Day
Just look @ that little puppy dog face!

He's been through a lot this year.
We learned that he suffers from migraines (at least thats what they think).
He's met with a neurologist. He's had an EEG, an MRI, had his blood drawn so many times that if you even touch the insides of his elbows he starts freaking out! He's been to the chiropractor more in his little life than I have in mine. He's been on medication since September and he hasn't had a migraine for 3 MONTHS!
We're hoping this is something he is just growing out of.

This is when he had the EEG.
He had almost 30 electrodes on his head to monitor his brain waves!
Of which they placed one by one.
As you can see, he absolutely LOVED it!

Happy Birthday Oscar! We sure do love you!

it's a new year!

Better late than never, I suppose.

I got strep right after new years and now we've all got it.
So, we've been doing a whole lot of nothing. Trying to get better.

We had a pretty chill New Years Eve. Which is exactly what I needed.
We hung out with the Waldrons @ their home in Daybreak.
They live 6 houses north of the Oquirrh Temple. And from their front porch you can see the entire Salt Lake Valley, from north to south.
And even a little into Utah Valley.
So, when the clock struck 12:00, we went on the front porch and could see every single firework let off anywhere in the valley.
Of course, I didn't take pictures.
I had a splitting headache and it was also freezing cold!

Oscar and George messin around!

Oscar made himself right at home next to Pookie.
Such a cool dog. He's a malti-poo. No shedding!
I could handle a dog that doesn't shed.

Playing in the snow.
As you can see, Oscar wasn't loving the bundled up part so much!

Or the boogers part.
